Plainfield Baptist Church Covenant

Having received Christ as my Lord and Savior and been baptized by immersion, I now unite with the Plainfield Baptist Church family in covenant to the following:

1.      I WILL PROTECT THE UNITY OF MY CHURCH:

Ø      By acting in love toward other members (I Peter 1:22)

Ø      By refusing to gossip (Ephesians 4:29)

Ø      By following our leaders (Hebrews 13:17)

2.      I WILL SHARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MY CHURCH:

Ø      By praying for its growth (I Thessalonians 1:2)

Ø      By inviting the unchurched to attend (Luke 14:23)

Ø      By warmly welcoming those who visit (Romans 15:7 LB)

Ø      By studying and applying Scripture to our daily lives (James 1:22)

3.      I WILL SERVE THE MINISTRY OF MY CHURCH:

Ø      By discovering my gifts and talents (I Peter 4:10)

Ø      By being equipped to serve by my pastors & leaders (Eph. 4, 11, & 12)

Ø      By developing a servant’s heart (Philippians 2:3-4, & 7)

4.      I WILL SUPPORT THE TESTIMONY OF MY CHURCH:

Ø      By attending faithfully (Worship, Sunday School, Bible Study) (Hebrews 10:25)

Ø      By living a godly life (Philippians 1:27)

Ø      By giving regularly (I Corinthians 16:2)

The above is a covenant we should all be willing and able to accept and flesh out.  It is this type of commitment that took the church through 50 years of ministry.  It will be this type of commitment that will take us into the future to receive our Lord’s commendation, “well done thou good and faithful servant.”  Will you so convenant?

Pastor Mike

Strategic Planning Committee

The Strategic Planning Committee has spent several weeks praying every Monday evening, seeking God’s will for our church.  Time was spent evaluating many aspects, both good and bad.  In the process of allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us, it was decided to designate March 25th as our time as a church to build bridges to the future.  We encourage all members to join us for this special day of worship and challenge.

We also invite you to join us Monday evening, March 26, at 6:30 to pray for our church and be a part of growing spiritually in God’s will.

Committee Members are: Pastor Jenkins, Rev. Mark Layton, Rev. Cliff Burchyett, David Coker, Tina Mylcraine, Sarah Redmond, Joyce Rohrer, Erin Cromer

Women’s Ministry

Thank you to all of the individuals who helped in the kitchen for Uncle Phil’s Dinner.  We truly appreciate everyone who pitched in and made the ‘kitchen’ a success.

Women’s Bible Study is now averaging 19.  Our meetings are every other Thursday at 6:30 pm.  The next meetings are March 15 and March 29.

March 24th is the Hispanic Ladies Conference at PBC.  We are serving for them so let us know if you can help.

We are doing a special study on March 30th from 9 – 11:30 am.  This will be a study of all of the women we have covered so far for those ladies who have not been able to attend in the evenings.  Child care will be provided.  Please plan to join us.

We are in the process of planning for spring and summer activities.  Please let us know if you would like to be a part of the planning of have ideas for us to consider.  You may contact Brenda Martin or Anita Bunten.
